Today is my sister's birthday.
I wish I could've spent the day with her instead of sitting at a desk all day.
I miss her.
I wish she was my next door neighbor. Or at least lived in the same town.
I think God is doing miraculous things in her life...including the twins growing inside her tummy.
I can't believe I don't have any pics of her on my computer...they're all on CD, tucked away. There's pics of her kids GALORE- but not one of her! This MUST be remedied ASAP.
Happy Birthday, Kate.
Love you SO very much and cannot wait to get together and be lazy bums.

Miss Kaylee.
As in.. little Miss Kaylee.
As in..we miss Kaylee.
Today is Miss Kaylee's birthday!
And since we didn't have our act together and get a card out in time- we'll do it Blog style!
She's dear to our family, but especially Josie. She considers Kaylee to be one of her best friends and misses her a LOT. She talks about her all the time, wishes that she was her sister or maybe if only we were neighbors (hmmm. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it, C? *laugh*). Their personalities are VERY similar..like two peas in a pod, those two.
The last time we were in Cali they were in HEAVEN. Heck, who am I kidding... I was in heaven! Getting to hang out with one of my best friends in the entire world and her fam for two weeks was FANTASTIC! Watching the kids get along so well was such a cool thing. And Kaylee & Josie were pretty much inseperable. We ended our trip at Disneyland together, and when we parted ways outside the park there were many tears. Most came from Kaylee & Josie. Josie was crying the whole way back to the hotel and wailing "Why can't we live here? I don't want to leave Kaylee! I already miss her soooo muuuuchhhhh" And after sharing some texts with Christy, their tram ride was pretty much the same with Kaylee!
We've all been longing to see our dear friends again..wistful to be in the California sunshine and the happiness of the sand, surf & Disneyland, but most of all..the ability to enjoy all of those things with THEM is what makes it the best!
Here are some shots from our last trip.
Can't wait to take NEW ones!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KAYLEE!
We sure love you BUNCHES!!!!
Not sure if we'll get down there this Summer but I hope so! We'll see.
Until then, I'll look at these pictures because they never fail to make me smile!
XOXO

Holding On
Well- today is Wednesday. Or it WAS Wednesday..there's not much left of it. 1 hour and 1 minute as I type this. This working full time is admittedly kinda kicking my tail right now. I'll get it figured out eventually but the control-freak in me is having a tough time! Monday afternoon I was longing for Friday evening already! And Tuesday. And today.
Tomorrow is the kiddos "Friday", lucky things!
Coming home to the dishwasher being unloaded/reloaded and a "bouquet" on the windowsill for me DOES soften the blow though. How sweet is THAT?!
And seeing my kids curled up with a book ALWAYS makes me happy!
It just makes my heart swell... love it! (I know I've said this multiple times in past posts)
And with that I'm signing off.
My pillow is beckoning. Maybe something more interesting this weekend (No promises!).
XOXO

((YAWN))
Wow. Is it Friday yet??! Oh, it IS?!????
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
Why is this day a good one?
* I got my new car back from the dealer, all spiffed up. I love her. Yes, she's a "her"..yet unnamed but not for long.
* I survived my first week as a mom that holds a full-time job. barely. But I did it! And you veterans.. I bow before you and beg you to refrain from scoffing. I'm a newbie but I'll wrangle this new life schedule yet! I do love a good challenge.
* I get to wear jeans to work every Friday. 'nuff said.
* I still have long-ish nails. Despite a few cracks (they're very weak).. This is EPIC! I still remember when we lived in Germany and my Aunt Peg came to visit. She was painting her nails and caught me admiring her handiwork (did you catch that pun?? It was a good one!) and told me that once I broke my nail biting habit, she'd give me a manicure. Well Aunt Peg, I do believe it's time to come visit again... (I hope I'm not jinxing myself. I've done that before but this is the longest duration yet so we shall see).
* We're taking the kids to Portland tomorrow... shopping at the mall, dinner at Claim Jumper and RANGO at the theatre. It's something we've all been looking forward to but it's been fun hearing the kids counting down the days this past week. It's one of their favorite "decadent" things to do now..which shows just how fast they're growing up! (sigh)
* I started what looks to be a good book....at least from what I've read so far.
Once I finish that, I have this one waiting. I have enjoyed many of Maeve Binchy's books in the past- so hopefully this one is good too.
I finished the HUNGER GAMES trilogy. I was sad to have it come to an end. I understand they're casting for the movie(s) now.. I hope they do the books justice. It is such an original, intriguing story! I highly recommend them. Easy reads (actually written for teens) but they suck you in. I LOVE when books do that for me.
Well, it's been a long week. I'm officially whipped and headed for bed.
To read, of course. I'll probably get a page or two in before I pass out- but it's a nice way to drift off, isn't it?
Have a WONDERFUL weekend!
XOXO
